.577 Snider Cavalry Carbine
For sale, a very neat 1878 dated .577 Snider cavalry carbine, manufactured by BSA for the East India Company. The rifle is of the MK3 denotation, with lots of war department and proof marking – the rifle was possible built for British service, before eventual issue to the EIC.
The bore is good, with well defined rifling. The action is very tight, with a good breechblock, free from wobble.
The rifle contains it’s frequently misplaced 2 x piece cleaning rod in the butt of the gun, and has a reproduction sight cover, and it’s original nipple protector.
