12mm British Bulldog Pinfire Revolver

12mm British Bulldog Pinfire Revolver

Here we have a very unusual large 12mm pinfire revolver, manufactured to a style befitting the turn of the 20th century.

The pinfire cartridge would have been made obsolete by the advent of the centrefire cartridge at the time when this pistol was produced, making it's late styling incredibly rare.

The pistol belongs to a style of revolver known as the "Bulldog", in emulation of the Webley Bulldog revolver of the 1870's. As usual, makers marks are non existent, due to breaches of Webley patents, with the frame and cylinder sporting the usual Liege proof marks associated with a European pistol.

The action works faultlessly in single and double action, with strong springs and original fsteners all around (fully strippable) . The nickel plating is original, and 90% good, with excellent wooden grips and deep rifling.

All in all, this is an unusual pistol due to it's transitional style, and a rare chance to own one in an obsolete cartridge type.
